Conforms to the type A spring durometer specified in the JIS K 6301 standard "Physical Testing of Vulcanized Rubber," abolished in August 1998. Because the use of this standard was so widespread in the rubber industry for such a long time, this type is still used today for collecting measurement data or for internal purposes with the consent of involved parties.
